Brown Bluff is an ice-capped, flat-topped mountain, 745 meters (2,445 feet) high, with a prominent cliff of reddish-brown volcanic rock on the north face. It supports a breeding colony of about 20,000 pairs of Adélie penguins, as well as about 550 pairs of gentoo penguins.
